BRIEF
The objective of the project is to create an engaging augmented reality experience about a researched project relating to design.

CHALLENGE
I chose to focus on packaging design and how it influences consumers as they shop. My target audience ranges from teens to adults, anyone who shops through a grocery store and has a phone. The biggest challenge was keeping it engaging and fun while also showing the roles of design to non-graphic designers, people who may not know the ins and outs of design. Keeping things simple and easy to read for any person was most important to me.

STICKER DESIGN
I approached the sticker design by considering the placement of my sticker. I wanted the location of my sticker to reach the generic shopper, placing the sticker on a grocery cart was the perfect solution to reach my audience. I had multiple different ideas for this but I chose with a simple design of different products most people buy in a typical shopping trip with an eye catching title.

LOCATION
I chose Target as my location, this is because Target is the first shop that comes to mind with multiple different products that are eye catching and trendy. I chose to place my sticker on the handle of the shopping cart, the location would be seen by many and easy to scan.

AR EXPERIENCE WALKTHROUGH
I began the project with a short about before it went into the experience itself, each category is a category within Target itself. You then get to play a "this or that" game which leads you to a short information blurb about the design and a resource to help you chose better products.

RESEARCH
I did a lot of research on how product design truly influences consumers. I found multiple articles on different types design and how they influence you.

PROTOTYPING
With the location of my sticker being so unique I did a lot of prototyping at my location to be sure my QR code was scannable. I then had to be sure the experience itself ran smoothly.

REFLECTION
I had fun creating this project. The hardest part was getting Aero to work properly. It was a great learning experience and interesting to see how you can make design more engaging with an audience. I wanted to make references to brands throughout my project without being obvious about which brands I designed, which I feel like I succeeded with that in my comparisons.
